This policy explains what happens to the details you give us, in plain terms.

Who Is Responsible for Your Data

Roofers Telford (rooferstelford.com) runs a roofing enquiry service for Telford, Shrewsbury and East Shropshire. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Roofers Telford decides how the details you share here or over the phone are used, which makes us their controller. The Information We Collect

Online forms. When you fill in a form, we receive your name, phone number, email address, postcode and the details of the roofing job. The quote form also asks what kind of work you need, how soon you need it, the type of roof, and whether the property is listed, in a conservation area or in the Ironbridge Gorge. Please don't include anything you'd rather a roofing business didn't see.

Phone calls. Calls to the number on this site run through a call-tracking provider. That provider notes your caller number, when you rang, how long the call lasted and which page sent you to us. A recording may be made to help us relay the job correctly. Because of this system, the phone number shown on the site can change between visits or pages; all of them reach us.

Technical data. For security, the company hosting the site holds routine access logs showing IP addresses, browsers and which pages were opened.

How the Form Is Handled

Your form answers are processed on this website's own server and sent to us by email. They don't pass through an outside form-building service. A hidden field on each form helps block automated spam; it collects nothing from you.

Why We Use It and Our Lawful Bases

• To pass your enquiry on and answer it. You've asked us to put you in touch with a roofing business, so we process your details to do that. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interest in running the service you chose to use.
• To understand which pages lead to enquiries. We use call-tracking data for this, relying on legitimate interests. We weigh that against your privacy and keep the data to what's needed.
• To meet legal duties. Some records may need to be kept to comply with the law or to deal with a complaint or dispute.

We don't use your details for automated decisions about you, and we don't sell them.

Who Receives Your Details

We send your enquiry to one independent local roofing business that covers your area, so it can contact you about the job. From that point the business is responsible for your details under its own data protection duties. The only other parties that handle your data are service providers acting for us: the call-tracking provider and our web host. If any of them process data outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires for that transfer.

How Long We Keep It

We keep enquiry records for up to twelve months after we last hear from you, then delete them. Recordings of calls are deleted within 90 days. Access logs sit with our host only for its own short security window.

Cookies and Tracking

This website doesn't use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or social media trackers, and it loads no Google services at all. The call-tracking provider uses a small script, which may store an identifier in your browser so it can show the right number and link a call to the page you came from. Apart from that, the site uses only what it needs to work.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• have wrong details corrected
• have your data deleted, where there's no good reason for us to keep it
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use based on legitimate interests
• receive data you gave us in a portable format

Write to info@rooferstelford.com to use any of these rights. We'll answer within one month. The Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) is the UK regulator for data protection, and anyone can raise a concern about our handling of their data with it. We'd welcome the chance to put things right first, but you don't have to come to us before going to the ICO.
