Prices are typical ranges, not quotes. The figures in the cost guides are researched typical UK ranges for the year shown, taken from published sources. A roofer's price for your job will depend on the roof, access, materials and the business itself.
Insurance. The insurance guide explains in general terms how UK home insurers and the Financial Ombudsman Service tend to approach roof leaks and storm damage. It can't tell you whether your claim will be paid. Check your policy and speak to your insurer before relying on anything in it.
Liability and the law. The liability section of the how-to-choose guide summarises the general legal position on roofers working at height and who is responsible if someone is hurt. It is not legal advice. If there's been an accident, or you're facing or considering a claim, get advice from a solicitor or Citizens Advice.
Building Regulations and planning. What the site says about building control, conservatory roofs, conservation areas and the Ironbridge Gorge is based on published guidance at the time of writing. Rules change and every property is different. Check with Telford & Wrekin Council or Shropshire Council building control, and the council's planning or conservation team, before work starts.
